Lotus Jewel: The Mantra of Great Compassion
A Retreat in Denver 23 - 25 April
At the Unitarian Church on Capitol Hill
Our speech is sacred and powerful. It shapes our world. “Mantra”, or “mind protection” is an ancient practice of using recitation to activate our innate enlightened qualities, protecting our own minds and those around us. It’s better than doom scrolling, and empowers us to confidently manifest in liberating ways.
In this three day retreat, we will learn and practice Avalokiteshvara, a Buddha of compassion, and his famous mantra OM MANI PADME HUM (top photo in Tibetan). Through meditation, visualization, and ritual, we can bring out and empower the fearless compassion within ourselves, healing and freeing cycles of turmoil at their roots.
This retreat will be a natural and powerful extension of the Four Immeasurables that we’ve been learning in our Denver evenings, which we embody in the practice, yet will be accessible to anyone who has a basic grounding in meditation practice. Ie, bring friends, but not as their first ever experience of meditation.
Y’all have floored me with your turn out and interest in our Denver events, so this will also be an opportunity to deepen together, bring in some magic, have quality community time, and explore next steps:)
