Our Awakened Mind
A Private Weeklong Retreat
11 - 18 April 2027, at Beyul Retreat in Meredith, CO
Joyfully, I’m continuing to offer private retreats just for y’all who have sat with me before, where I can share progressively deeper teachings, high quality support, and we can build real community. Here is the description:
The nature of mind is buddha itself. Wide open, indestructible, loving, and free. Mahayana Buddhism has passed down profound meditation instructions to help us cultivate liberating insight, or vipashyana, to experience and realize this.
We’ll ground in the natural elements, who are our mother buddhas, and draw support from mantra, visualization, and ritual practice.
We’ll practice pithy, profound instructions drawn from the Sutra Mahamudra tradition, which are the most precious I can share, and a natural next step from the sitting we’ve done together.
We had an absolutely magical start to this retreat last year, and the photos on this page are all from the actual center and the people are our group:)
This retreat will contain:
Between four and eight hours of daily practice
Silent mornings until lunch, and two full silent days
Outdoor practice with the mother buddhas of the elements
Ritual practice with mantra and visualization
Profound vipashyana or insight instructions with close personal guidance
Quality time with an idyllic center all to ourselves
Registration and Logistics
Our retreat is held at Beyul Retreat in Meredith, Colorado (about an hour outside Aspen).
We rent out the entire center, they’ve been amazing hosts, and all photos on this page are of the actual place, the group shots being us last year:)
They even have a sauna, which was a big hit with last year’s group.
This retreat will quickly fill to capacity, so please sign right up if you’d like to attend. Our latest registration deadline is 7 January, but it will fill long before then.
We arrive at 4pm on 11 April, and depart by 10:30am on 18 April.
Click the graphics below with your lodging option, and it will take you through the process.
Your own room with your own bed, and a bathroom that’s shared.
The pricing listed is all said and done, and includes everything (lodging, meals from our private chef, tuition, taxes and credit card fees)—-that’s the real, final, number.
I’ve been able to keep the cost nearly identical to my regular public weeklong retreats. Last year, it was even less, but this year we had higher figures for food, and the venue had modest rising costs.
Cancellation Policy
With these private retreats, I personally rent out the entire center, and am responsible for the fees. Spaces are limited, so please check your plans carefully. If you need to cancel, here’s what I can do:
If you cancel before 1 January, it’s fully refundable minus the 3% credit card processing fee.
After 1 January, it’s not refundable unless I can find someone else to fill your spot, which can be challenging as plans get made far in advance (though I will try). If your spot fills, I can refund you.
If that’s a concern, you may wish to explore travel insurance. Last year, it all worked out.
